This Relapse Prevention Manual was developed for use with clients at the Minnesota Chemical Dependency Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals.  It is intended to be used by and with Deaf or Hard of Hearing persons who have completed chemical dependency treatment.  It is designed to assist a person in looking at the factors which contribute to relapse.  This manual was written with the help of relapse materials currently in use at the Fairview Deaconess Program at Fairview Riverside Medical Center.  It contains modifications which were found to be helpful in meeting the communication needs of Deaf and Hard of Haring persons.  Many activities offer the person a choice of written or drawn work as a means of completing the task or assignments.  Attempts have also been made to make the language more accessible.  This manual is designed to be used by a recovering person working with a counselor, therapist or as part of a relapse group.
