This sign language book is intended for use by 1) deaf students preparing for careers in the computing field itself or in fields which have a significant interface with computing; 2) deaf employees currently in such careers; 3) teachers and instructors, both for pre-employment education and training and for similar activities on the job; 4) interpreters, both for educational and employment environments and 5) managers and other work associates of deaf persons.  This last category not only represents the largest number of potential users, but is also the group that will benefit most from the book’s use.  By facilitating communication with the people with whom they work, deaf employees are better able to interact and to contribute, thus increasing the productivity of the departments in which they work.
